Is This Some Kind of a Joke??

Went to bed last night planning on getting my little Gurney's baby replacement trees/berries/grapes put in the ground this morning and this is what I woke up to:What kind of April Fool's joke is this??? Maybe it will get better when the sun comes up and it could melt the snow I thought, but by the time the sun was up, so was the wind and now we have this:Nothing like blowing snow to get you in the mood to plant something. Guess the tree planting will have to wait at least until the wind slows down a little. Maybe I'll go to the store and try to find seed starter trays instead. At least that will mostly be inside out of the wind. ;-)

Man, I feel for ya. I can't imagine this kind of weather for this time of year!

The ignorance of people like me living in the deep south...

Global warming...? Riiiight!

OH NO !!! Where in the world are you girl?? Was sunny and better than 70 most of the day here in KY. Just seeing that scares me, I got some plants in the ground and I don't need any snow on them. Hope you get sun SOON !!

It's winter and spring fighting for who's turn it is. Winter isn't giving in without a fight. :)

Yea tell me about it. We also got that snow today. So much for being in New Mexico.

We got snowed on yesterday and today too. And apparently it's not the last we'll see.

Anyhow, I wanted to tell you that I went to a gardening class that a Master Gardener from Thanksgiving Point gave and she said that it's not good to start your seeds indoors too early. In other words, you shouldn't have seedlings indoors for more than 2 weeks before you plant them outside.

So I'm not starting mine for another 2 weeks.

Just thought I'd pass that along.

No kidding on the global warming, and Jim--you've definitely got a longer growing season down there than we do!

Bullseye--we're in SW Utah. Occasionally get snow deep enough to sled on in April, so I'm glad this was only a little bit!

Winter won yesterday, but Spring is kicking back today thank goodness! Had some sunshine this morning before the wind and clouds this afternoon so had time to get the plants in the ground and soaked. Hope they make it this time! :)

Olivia, that's good to hear about the seeds. I've never started indoors, and some gardener guy here said he does his 8 weeks before, and a friend of mine here said 4 weeks is plenty, so I'll probably wait another week or so to put them in. Thanks for all the great comments!

Wow, that looks a lot worse than I remember it being. Thank goodness it has all melted already! Thank you again for today. I know my kids are a handful right now. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you!
